Introduce yourself! Tell us a bit about you and where we can find you on social media too!
Hi! My name is Mariam and I am a full-time elementary teacher as well as personal development and blogging blogger!
I currently live and work in the Middle East and absolutely love it here! You can find my blog over at www.bossbabechroniclesblog.com.
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging years ago, maybe 7-8 years back. The blog I had back then wasn’t popular by any means, and it didn’t make me happy. So I quit.
Earlier this year, that hunger for blogging came back to me and I decided to do it right this time around. I did a lot of research and read countless other blogs, and went straight for it. It’s been the best decision I’ve made in a long time.
Tell us about your niche and your blog.
I started off writing only about personal development. Now, a few months later, I have added blogging advice, savings, self-care, career and productivity into the mix.
What is the best thing about blogging for you?
The ability to connect with amazing women, hands down.
What’s your favorite social media platform and why?
I think Twitter is my favorite. Instagram is a close second if we don’t count the annoying follow/unfollow that goes on every day over there.
What would say to someone interested in blogging or just starting out?
Do your research, and don’t be afraid to reach out to other bloggers for help.
What was the most challenging thing about being a blogger for you?
Learning it all by myself!
I used to think blogging was just about writing, but quickly came to find that it isn’t! We are also editors, graphic designers, accountants, website designers and more!
It definitely is hard work.
What do you do when you aren’t working on your blog?
Working on my day job, reading, watching Netflix, working out or going on joy rides!
Name a female blogger or business owner who inspires you and why.
There are SO many inspirational women in the blogging/business industry, so it’s hard to choose.
One of those women is Lauren from www.ellduclos.blog, and she been a very big inspiration to me. Her story is super inspiring. She went from not knowing what she wanted out of life to quitting her full-time job for her blog, where she has been super successful. Where she is now in her blogging journey is where I want to get to.
What advice would you have for women wanting to start their own business?
Just go for it. Taking the first step is going to be the hardest thing you will probably do in your whole business journey. Also, surround yourself with people who will support you, because that will play a huge part in your mindset throughout this chapter of your life.
Anything else you want to add?
Blogging and business owning are two of the best things I’d achieved in my lifetime so far. It definitely is an investment as far as your energy, money and time go, but it is absolutely worth it.
